Featuring the same quality craftmanship and full sound as our full-size atabaques, our kids atabaques measure a shorter 33.5 in/ 86 cm, just the right height for the aspiring drummer. Each atabaque is reinforced from the interior by iron rims to maintain the integrity of the shape and acoustic isolation. A pretreated leather drum head and is pulled tight by wooden wedges holding down natural rope secured to rims at the top and base of the drum. Tuning the atabaque is as simple as hammering down evenly on the wedges, increasing the tension to produce a crisp and defined sound.
