I love capoeira, because it has all the elements that personify my life. First, it's the only martial art that I know that has music as the driving force behind it. I'm a musician that plays guitar. I was drawn to the music naturally! Secondly, I've been practicing martial arts since I was 8 years old. First with Tang Soo Do, then Kenpo Karate, and Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu! Yet I always loved the dynamic acrobatics of capoeira. I first came across capoeira from the movie, "Only the Strong," then I was hooked. I also love capoeira because of it's tradition that goes back to africa, and that it was something used by slaves. Also because you learn songs and language through learning capoeira. All of these elements have turned me on to Capoeira!
