Contra Mestre Serpente Negra is a Brazilian national and a student of Capoeira for more than 20 years. He founded his first academy in Brazil, in 1999. In 2003, he founded the Serpente Negra Academy in Columbus, Ohio and shortly thereafter an academy in Cleveland, Ohio. In 2005 he opened an academy in Sebastopol, California where he currently resides.
